There will be nine must-see Korean dramas in November 2021

Chimera

Park Hae-next soo’s next project is Chimera, a mystery thriller series about a spate of murders triggered by a strange explosion. Kim Do-hoon will direct the film (The Moon Embracing The Sun).

Park portrays Jae-hwan, a violent crimes detective tasked with investigating the unexplained “chimera” fatalities that reappeared 35 years later after another explosion. As Jae-hwan, criminal profiler Eugene (Claudia Kim), and surgeon Joong-yeob (Lee Hee-jun) examine the peculiar crimes, the plot follows them. Gladys Yeo is a writer who lives in Singapore (Gladys Yeo)

Dr. Brain,

In Apple TV+’s first-ever Korean-language original, Lee Sun-kyun plays Lee Se-won, a neuroscientist with the ability to remember every experience he has ever had. This dark science fiction series is based on the webtoon Dr. Brain and directed by renowned director Kim Jee-won (well known for his 2003 horror film A Tale Of Two Sisters).

When tragedy strikes his family, the bright scientist looks for a technique to recover the memories of the deceased. After a failed memory extraction from a man who committed suicide, Se-won begins to suffer terrible hallucinations as his mind falls into insanity. – Yogi

Hellbound

Hellbound is a dystopian series directed by Yeon Sang-ho and starring Yoo Ah-in (#Alive, Burning) as the enigmatic leader of a religious cult (Train to Busan).

Ordinary people in Hellbound who have been designated as sinners begin to receive horrifying texts announcing their impending deaths. When the appointed time arrives, fearsome “executors of Hell” appear to claim their stake, leaving only their victims’ burned bodies behind. A broadcasting director, a lawyer, and a detective team up to solve the world’s most terrifying supernatural phenomena in this fantasy thriller. – Yogi

Melancholia

Melancholia stars Lee Do-hyun (18 Again) and Im Soo-jung (Search: WWW) and is set in Ahseong private high school in Gang-elite nam, where corruption is widespread.

Im plays Ji Yoon-soo, a sweet-natured math teacher who is fired after being accused of an alleged teacher-student sex scandal after giving troubled math genius Baek Seung-yoo additional attention (played by Lee). Four years later, the two reunite and team up to uncover the high school’s crimes and clear Yoon-good soo’s name. – Yogi

Happiness

The rich homeowners on the upper floors of a high-rise apartment complex conflict with the renters on the lower floors in filmmaker Ahn Gil’s series (Record Of Youth, Memories Of The Alhambra). All-too-familiar issues about class injustice play out in the universe of Happiness, which is set in the near future and involves an incurable disease that turns humanity into bloodthirsty monsters.

In Red, the Sleeve

2PM’s Lee Jun-ho MBC’s new historical series, based on Kang Mi’s best-selling novel of the same name, stars her. He plays Crown Prince Lee San, who later becomes King Jeongjo of Joseon and falls in love with Sung Deok-im, a court lady (played by Lee Se-young).

The Royal Inspector Secret, Joy

Secret Royal Inspector Joy is a historical comedy series in which an aspiring gourmet (Ok Taecyeon) has his plans to open a tranquil restaurant shattered when he becomes an undercover government secret agent tasked with uncovering corruption in neighboring provinces.
